Ekta silences Silk’s bro with caveat petitions

Ekta Kapoor’s `The Dirty Picture` starring Vidya Balan in her raunchiest best was embroiled in a series of controversies ever since the film came into news. Based on south Indian sex-bombshell Silk Smitha, the film is being directed by Milan Luthria, of the `One Upon A Time In Mumbaai` fame.

On seeing the sleazy promos of the film, Vadlapatla Naga Vara Prasad, brother of the late sex symbol had filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the release of the film.

Prasad said, “Going by the news reports appearing in newspapers and telecast by the TV channels, the movie is based on my sister’s life. Her character has been portrayed in the most obscene manner. Such scenes must be removed before its release.”

Producer Ekta was quick enough to respond to Prasad. She filed caveat petition in over 20 cities across India to request that no petition against the release of the film in question should be taken into consideration without her knowledge.

Prasad’s petition was not entertained. Narrating what response he got from various courts, he said, “I received intimation from courts in various cities including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Vijayawada and Eluru (hometown).”
