Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra’s 9 leading ladies walked the ramp at a special event organized as a tribute to the director on his 81st birth anniversary on Friday (September 27). The evening saw the likes of Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherji, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra walk the ramp. Shah Rukh Khan also joined the ladies in tribute to the late director.
1. Rekha, who has worked with Yash Chopra in ‘Silsila’, 'Kabhie Kabhi' rocked the ramp in a gold-pink silk sari as she danced to 'Yeh Kaha Aa Gaye Hum’. “I thank Yash Chopra from the bottom of my heart to present me in a beautiful manner in his films. We will miss you,” she said.
2. Yash Chopra's 'Chandni', Sridevi, who was also seen in Yash Raj’ classic cult ‘Lamhe’, looked stunning in a silver ghagra.
3. Madhrui Dixit, well remembered for her role in ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, took to the ramp in a black colour seqin sari and red lip-colour.
4. Katrina Kaif who was seen in yash Chopra’s last film ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ stunned in a sheer embroidered lehenga with a shimmery blouse.
5. Rani Mukherji looked beautiful in a traditional fuchsia pink embroidered ghagra. The actress who worked with the highly-acclaimed director in ‘Veer-Zaara’ got emotional as she took the stage and said, “I miss you Yash uncle. I feel sorry I couldn't make a cake for you on your last birthday as I was busy with other commitments. I miss you everyday.”
6. Juhi Chawla who had the opportunity of working with Yash Chopra in the early stages of her career in a guest appearance in 'Chandni’ and later in 'Darr', flashed a beautiful smile on the ramp in a floral pinted ghagra.
7. Preity Zinta, who had been directed by Yash Chopra in ‘Veer-Zaara’, took to the ramp in a ‘Kashmiri white sharara.
8. Anushka Sharma who was also a part of Yashji’s final project 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', looked sensual and gorgeous in a black sari and a striking big red bindi. She paid a tribute to Meena Kumari.
9. Parineeti Chopra, who has bagged a few Yash Raj Film projects like ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Ishaqzaade’, expressed her disappointment that she had never been directed by the Late filmmaker.
10. Yash Chopra’s leading ladies were joined by none other that Shah Rukh Khan who looked dapper in black. The actor had teamed up with Yash Chopra in four films 'Darr', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Veer-Zara' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.
